About the Mercury Bay Cricket Club

Incorporated in 2016, the Mercury Bay Cricket Club includes teams from the north eastern region of the Coromandel Peninsula. This area includes Whangapoua, Kuaotunu, Matarangi, Whitianga, Cooks Beach, Hahei, Hot Water Beach and Whenuakite.

The clubs home ground is located at the Mercury Bay Multi-Sport Park in Whitianga.

Our Programs

The Mercury Bay Cricket Clubs programs include Senior, Junior, invitational and skills based programs. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates on weather, click here for further information.


An exciting season ahead – we will introduce a league to play in on the Peninsula!
If you have played cricket before or have done the skills program then we need you to sign up to be involved in one of our teams.
Teams are Y7/8, Y5/6 (hard ball) and Y3/4 (soft ball).
Games will be played in Whangamata, Ngatea, Thames, Tairua, Mercury Bay. You must be register before these dates.

Senior Cricket includes weekend matches between local teams. Senior Cricket is available for players of both sexes over 16 and will be played at the Mercury Bay Multi-Sport Park in Whitianga. Please keep an eye on out Facebook page for further information and playing dates.


Our Junior Skills Program (Superstar) is an 6 week training program for players of both sexes aged five plus and will be held at the Mercury Bay Multi-Sport Park in Whitianga. This is suited to those who have never played cricket before and those who want to play, but are not ready for a team yet.
Cost is $40 per person, includes a bonus giveaways bag with bat, ball, drink bottle and extras.

This is targeted for players with a high level of skill/ experience. Sorry not for beginners or juniors.
Supporters are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the evening.

Thames Valley

Superstar Cricket
Waikato Valley Cricket is offering a fantastic 8 session programme for boys and girls aged 5 years and up.  The Superstar Academy is an exciting fundamental skills programme to start children on the road towards the Black Caps or White Ferns.  The cost is $40 which includes fantastic giveaways including a bat, backpack, water bottle, ball and cap for each participant over the course of the programme.
